NY Design Week / ICFF 2012
The studio was one of five designers selected by Sight Unseen to form their NoHo Next showcase as part of the larger NoHo Design District during the 2012 ICFF/ New York Design Week. The studio was given a window at Lost City Arts to install two versions of the Brooklyner. On display was the turntable/bar and the desk/bar pieces in two of the three base colors on offer. A neon sign which expresses the ethos behind the design was fabricated by Let There Be Neon. It alternated between the phrases WORK HARD and PLAY HARDER. You can read more about NoHo Next and the NDD here.
Across town, Boffo chose the Brooklyner to be a part of their first ever NY Design Week show titled ShowHouse and curated by Andrew Yes. The exhibit took place from May 15 – June 4 and was installed throughout four apartments at the soon-to-open Madison Jackson condo development in the Lower East Side. The Brooklyner, in the bar/desk combo and third base color, was on display in the ‘Work’ apartment alongside lots of great designers and artists including heavy hitters like Jenny Holzer, Patricia Urquiola and Marcel Wanders. The studio was honored to be one of three pieces singled out by Wallpaper* magazine for their 2012 ICFF report. Click here to read their post.
